With the election this Tuesday, the lives of many people in D.C. are particularly busy. Whether you’re working 20 hour days because of the election or a curious bystander, we’re ready to help here at DCist.
First, and most importantly, now is the time to figure out where (and when) to vote. Polls will be open in the District of Columbia from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., you can find your polling place using this online tool. Voting places will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. in Virginia, and their online poll locator is here. Finally, elections in Maryland run from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and their online poll locator is here. Voting elsewhere? Try mypollingplace.com. For detailed information about races in the region, the W. Post’s Voters Guide page is a great resource.
For results, the W. Post, NY Times, CNN, and MSNBC all have special elections pages. We’re particularly impressed with CNN and MSNBC, who both have lots of online gizmos to play with. Even The Onion is into the act, with their special “Countdown to the Recount.”
The DCist staff will be covering the election, with a particular focus on the city. We’ll have correspondents and photographers monitoring T.V., the web, and roving about the city for election news. As usual, feel free to send us tips at staff at dcist.com.
