Saturday, after the fog lifted, the weather was warm and nice, but with Halloween and a heated election back to back, being out and about provided its interesting moments.

When DCist was traveling to Barracks Row to pick up our costume for Saturday night (DCist photo above), we were traveling on a Blue Line train heading toward Capitol Hill. As the train approached the Capitol South station, a group of Lyndon LaRouche supporters came through our train car and started chanting. Such activity is certainly out of the norm for metrorail riders.

To the tune of Frere Jacques, the LaRouchites chanted:

Where’s your flu shot?
Where’s your flu shot?
Ask George Bush
Ask George Bush
He wants to kill your grandma
He wants to kill your grandma
He’s a Nazi
He’s a Nazi

As the LaRouchites passed out LaRouche PAC information, they seemed to have angered the father who was leading his family of four around. After the LaRouchites left at the Capitol South station to switch train cars, the father got up and led his family off the train, presumably to do some siteseeing on Capitol campus.

A rider turned to DCist and said: “He was a straight up Bush lover. He was not happy.”

Another rider said: “If you give [the LaRouchites] your phone number, they will never stop calling you.”

Here is the Washington Post Magazine’s cover story on Lyndon LaRouche.
