In the midst of the post-Thanksgiving rush at National Airport last night, two American Airlines flights from Miami and Chicago were sharing the same baggage carousel and a tiny former Olympic gymnast stood waiting for her bag. A DCist reader tells us that the petite Kerri Strug, who won America’s heart at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic games, was wearing grey pants chatting on her cellphone.
DCist’s post on Strug selling her armoire, which got cited in the Washingtonian, pops up at No. 2 in Google searches for “Keri Strug.” (Yes, we realize D.C. can be starved for celebrity star power. We take what we can get.)
UPDATE: Please note that our copy editing skills failed us on this one. Kerri Strug, not Keri. Thanks for the intrepid eyes who called us out on that one. That explains the Google ranking.
