Now that the massive intelligence overhaul has passed the House and Senate, the last stumbling block preventing Congress from going home for the year has been removed. And you know what that means: Adjournment.

It’s a time most of the city lets democracy and world affairs run on auto-pilot. People in D.C. are more interested in plotting out their holiday party social agendas, wear jeans to the office because it’s Tuesday, take long lunches (this DCist plans a crosstown lunch trip to Well Dressed Burrito) and use up vacation days. The heart of morning rush hour tends to skew toward 9:00 a.m. instead of 8:00 a.m.

Of course, not everyone is coasting until January. There are many good souls out there who still believe in the Protestant work ethic and are charging ahead with whatever work they have to do. But others are just waiting for the clock to strike 5 p.m.

So besides looking at DCist and all the other -ist member blogs, how are you wasting your time? This DCist knows full well of the dangers of games like Snood, as it prevented us from going to anthropology class back in Ann Arbor. So media consumption is our methadone to the heroin that is Snood and other addictive games, like Tetris, and, from what we hear from friends, is this online strategy game from the BBC.

In this time of relaxed work loads (for most), what are your favorite activities to pass the time?
