On this week’s “West Wing”: Donna quits! The President wants to quit and Josh still wants to stop Congressman Santos from quitting. Also, an asteroid is heading towards the earth and we’re treated to a secondary plot line that’s like a mini-Armageddon, complete with NASA dorks and people happily cheering the survival of the human race towards the end. Whatever. Wells has absolutely no shame left, does he? And it’s not even sweeps!
Meanwhile, Jed is still paralyzed below the waist as the summit begins. The Chinese use his absence to walk all over CJ and Toby but it’s all pretty boring, and unfortunately, DCist can’t really fill you in on all the details as our sister was demonstrating yoga moves right in front of the TV for the better part of the evening. In the end, President Bartlet and the Chinese PM have a closed door session where Jed basically kicks China’s ass on North Korea. Despite his success there, Jed admits to Abby that he can’t do the job anymore, the big quitter.
Back at home, Josh is a total tool to Donna and keeps blowing her off when she tries to talk to him. She hands in her resignation and tells Josh she’s leaving, but he doesn’t believe her until the next morning when the sassy temp shows up.
Josh and Leo meet and decide that none of the candidates who are currently running for President are good enough. Leo asks Josh to think about who he really wants in the office. And then, in a grand romantic gesture, Josh drops everything to fly to Houston and shows up at Congressman Santos’ door, asking him to run for President. Yay! We hope he says yes!
Wonkette’s sub and DCeiver also weighed in on this week’s episode.
