>> Head up to Kensington to check out the spectacular Festival of Lights at the Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints aka the Mormon temple. There are also international decorated trees and hand-crafted nativities from countries throughtout the world. Dusk – 10 p.m., free.

SUNDAY:
>> It’s a Celtic Christmas at the Birchmere in Arlington. Peformers include the All-Ireland champion on the button accordion! Whatever that is. 7:30 p.m., $19.50.

>> It’s the Rock N Shop at the Black Cat! This twice-yearly garage sale features everything from kitchsy gifts to handmade crafts. DJs spin in the background while you shop to your indie heart’s content. 8:30 p.m., free.

>> DC9 is hosting an Artomatic CD release party, featuring the sounds of several bands who played the sprawling art show over its course. The party’ll feature Pure Light Seed, Shahid Mustafa, Renee Heartfelt, Villarosie, Wes Tucker and Koshari. $6, and you can pick up the CD for $5.
