As Rush and Molloy reported yesterday in the NY Daily News, Jenna Bush and a group of friends were supposedly rejected from renting a house in Cleveland Park, a house belonging to The New York Times’ Paris bureau chief.
This makes us think that Jenna is realizing that Georgetown may not be the best bet for housing. Perhaps she even read our post from last week about her potential tough commute between Georgetown and Columbia Heights, where she is said to have applied for a teaching position at a charter school.
Cleveland Park would be a smart move for Ms. Bush, as Porter Street provides a quick trip across Rock Creek Park to upper 16th Street. Now if Jenna finds another place in Cleveland Park, let’s say south of Macomb Street, will the District will get the funds and would the White House clear neighborhood opposition to repair and rebuild Klingle Road? Remember that Waterside Drive underwent emergency repairs so the Reagan funeral procession wouldn’t be jostled about on bumpy roads.
