What has Wonkette’s Ana Marie Cox been up to since she skipped town? Partying with New York media heavies, apparently. Gawker Media, the Wonkette mother ship, called our girl home for a small, A-list bloggers only shindig at the New York home of publisher Nick Denton a few days ago. (Hmm, perhaps our invitation got lost in the mail? C’mon, we’re only a train ride away…) So what’s the big occasion?

Gawker reports that Ana Marie Cox, currently taking time off from her blogging duties, conservative pundit Andrew Sullivan (also on a blogging hiatus), and Instapundit Glenn Reynolds all just finished taping an episode of the Charlie Rose Show. Now, being the PBS devotees that we are, we recognize this is a huge deal and something worthy of celebration. Bloggers have been getting scattered TV time from 24 hour cable news channels for a while now but an appearance on “Charlie Rose” means that our street cred with traditional media outlets is going way up.

But, DCist is a little conflicted at seeing Cox and Sullivan partying it up with hot shot New York media types. That city’s already taken Tucker from us, and we can tell it’s trying to woo Ana Marie from under our noses. Back off, Big Apple! Gawker has pictures of Cox, Sullivan, Reynolds, and a few other writers and journalists that might only be of interest to a media obsessive like yours truly.
