If there are two things we here at DCist love, it’s hunky actors and blogs. Imagine our delight when we were alerted to this story that combined the two. For the next month, actor Matthew McConaughey will be cruising across the country in a Airstream trailor and keeping a blog to chronicle his adventure. McConaughey is hitting the road not only to promote his new action adventure/romantic comedy flick “Sahara”, which co-stars Penelope Cruz, but because he loves people.

“I love getting on the road and meeting new people in new places,” says McConaughey. “I’ve always kept diaries on my road trips; now, I’m going to share the experience. There should be some cool, interesting, and unexpected stories to tell.”

Seriously, the mind boggles. Do we really need an unedited look into the mind of the man infamous for playing bongos in the nude? We’re a little frightened, but also extremely curious. No entires have been posted as of yet on the “Stream of Consciousness” blog, but we’re waiting patiently. No word yet on when exactly he’ll be hitting the D.C. area, but chances are good that he’ll at least stop by. When we have exact dates, we’ll pass them on to all you fans.
