We thought the Jeff Gannon/Jim Guckert saga was, well, totally three weeks ago. But it looks like the Washington Socialites are interested keeping the scandal fires burning. Apparently, an anonymous and wealthy Washington socialite offered $10,000 for
proof that Jeff Gannon, an allegedly gay kinky-sex prostitute / escort / white house reporter / GOP operative, has had any type of sexual, or romantic, relationship with any top-ranking Washington official(s) — or proof that he engaged in any illegal sexual activities or favors.
Since the original post two weeks ago, the reward amount increased to a hefty $20,000 — and donations to increase the reward are still coming in. Commenters on the Socialite blog are, in general, supportive of the effort. One conscientious reader went as far as to post Gannon/Guckert’s phone number and address — the information that, according to Gannon, prompted the ersatz reporter to leave Talon News in early February.
We’re a little skeptical as to the Socialite’s qualifications as detectives, but we give them credit for staying on this crucial story. Since Gannon has quietly returned to the blogging world, he could use the free publicity.
So, readers, are any of you in possession of a Gannon-incriminating pair of Gap… err… slacks?
