At her keynote address at South by Southwest Interactive, Ana Marie Cox aka Wonkette, the former fulltime Washington-area resident turned bi-metropolitan blogging maven and up-and-coming author, said that blogging is not journalism.
We think that she’s right to a certain level, but hot damn, Austinist is on fire! With some stellar reporting and camera at the ready, our colleagues in Texas caught Ms. Cox being denied entry to attend her own party at a Sixth Street bar because she didn’t have her ID. Didn’t the Bush twins demonstrate how tough Austin is on IDs? Ooops!
And is that an Alderson, W.Va.-issue knit poncho she’s wearing?
