In addition to the HFStival announcement, there are a few other bits and pieces floating around — and we’d just hate ourselves if we didn’t tell you about them.
First off, an eagle-eyed reader let us know that tickets for the Bright Eyes/The Faint are already on sale. Though the two shows on Thursday, May 26 and Friday, May 27 haven’t been posted on the 9:30 Club’s home page, you can hit up their sales page here and purchase a few tickets. It’s the same deal with tickets for Ireland’s Snow Patrol, a personal favorite of ours who plays intelligent, heady and appealing indie rock with a sonic sheen. We recommend that you grab tickets straightaway, as we wouldn’t be surprised if both sold out very quickly.
Additionally, perennial favorite outdoor venue Wolf Trap released its summer performance schedule, and it includes great acts like Lyle Lovett, Ben Folds and Rufus Wainwright, Mark Knopfler, and John Hiatt. We’d be hard-pressed to think of any more enjoyable summer activity than buying a bottle of wine, some plastic cups, and taking them to a lawn seat for a performance at Wolf Trap.
And finally, here are our musical picks for the following week:
Monday: The Album Leaf at the Black Cat
Wednesday: Former Blur-ian Graham Coxon at the Black Cat
Thursday: Dogs Die in Hot Cars at the 9:30 Club
Friday: Arlingtonian local band Metropolitan holds a CD release party at the Black Cat.
