Were you out at any number of the great concerts this weekend? Unfortunately, bad planning and unlucky timing kept us from attending a show, but you can see a review and pictures of the Fiery Furnaces over at shesbitter.com; descriptions of the Bloc Party show at Dumbek and A Lot of Nothingness; and Bags over at the 9:30 Club Forum had a lot of glowing things to say about OK Go.
TUESDAY:
>> Not a concert, but an event worthy of anybody who’s interested in the music industry: The Future of Music DC Policy Day discusses important issues facing musicians and the music industry, such as the future of radio, digital broadcasting and copyright issues. The schedule and complete list of panelists can be found here.
WEDNESDAY:
>> iPod DJ Night continues its juggernaut at Saint-Ex tonight. Make sure to show up by 8 p.m. if you’d like to get on the playlist.
THURSDAY:
>> Japanese noise-rockers Melt Banana (pictured above) are at the Black Cat. $12.
SATURDAY:
>> Bluestate time! D.C. bloggers hit the decks at a free Black Cat event. 9:30 p.m.
>> Moody indie rockers Cartel play DC9. We saw them last month and were impressed.
SUNDAY:
>> Hip-hoppers Handsome Boy Modeling School are at the 9:30 Club. With K-OS & Rondo Brothers. $18.
