We didn’t intend DCist to become the Borf News Service, but the prolific graffiti artist continues to produce a steady stream of comments and tips. Since a detailed post in January (which continues to garner comments), we’ve commented on the Borf backlash, rumors Borf hates Baltimore, Borf look-alikes, and even Borf on the west coast. Our attempts to secure an interview were even rebuffed by an aloof Borf, who commented that “spending the night in jail will make you hate any city …”
When some tips trickled in that Borf had placed a massive tag on the Roosevelt bridge that covered “about 1/3 of the ‘Constitution Ave’ sign,” we asked for photos. Sure enough, a few hours later DCist friend Mike wrote to share with us a few photos he shot yesterday of the massive artwork. Although many of our commenters have expressed “Borf Fatigue,” his latest work is his largest – and most daring – yet. What does the future hold for Borf? Where will he strike next?
