We’d like to thank everyone who showed up last night to the DCist Cinco de Mayo party at Chief Ike’s Mambo Room, especially to those on the dance floor who kept the party going on well past midnight. You know that when the bartending staff had to pull out extra cases of Corona (only to run out later), we not only went beyond our crowd predictions, we were also doing our part to drive the local Columbia Road economy.
This photo is from DCist’s Kyle Gustafson. More photos can be seen on the Leafblower’s Flickr site.
We want to give a special shout-out to Bluestate, our favorite bloggers-turned-DJs, for providing the evening’s musical entertainment. We love meeting old and new friends, blogging colleagues and readers alike. If you spoke with us last night about contributing to DCist, send us an e-mail. With so much spam coming from the likes of Viagra distributors and Wysak Petroleum stock tipsters, it can be difficult to sort through it all. If you don’t hear back from us in a reasonable timeframe, keep on bugging us until you get a response.
So you may be wondering what the answer to the DCist Cinco de Mayo trivia challenge is. And many of you got it. From a procrastinating third-year law school student in Minnesota (who couldn’t show up for the happy hour and thus, isn’t eligible to win.) to an individual we heard was a former “Jeopardy!” winner who stopped by Chief Ike’s before this DCist arrived from our road trip.
