WMATA has been tweaking its display boards at metrorail stations as of late. While not much has changed, the number of train cars per train will be displayed again, along with the destination, line color and minutes until arrival. When WMATA changed its display boards some months ago, some riders lamented the elimination of the number of train cars on the display boards. At some stations, knowing how many train cars a train will have can help people determine where to line up along the platform.

But now with the small alterations, the boards are crammed with more information. As you can see from this photo posted by Brown Pau in DCist Photos, “RD” equals Red Line, “6” equals six-car train and if you put some vowels into “Grsvnor,” that equals Grosvenor-Strathmore.
