>> Over at the Freer and Sackler galleries, Ramesh Misra, “master of the sarangi” will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Meyer Auditorium. Misra was a student of Ravi Shankar and has been traveling the world for 40 years bringing the music of the traditional fiddle of South Asia to audiences near and far. Free, but space is limited.
>> MN8 presents a night of hip hop at the Black Cat, with Prince Paul, W. Ellington Felton, and newcomers Platinum Pied Pipers. $15, 9:30 p.m.
SATURDAY:
>> Gulchin Gulmamadova-Klaits and Alexander Klaits talk about their collection of stories, “Love and War in Afghanistan,” at Politics and Prose. 6 p.m.
>> One of our favorite alt-country groups, Old 97s, play the 9:30 Club. They always put on a fun, upbeat show.
>> Mike Tyson fights … er … some other dude tonight at the MCI Center. Did you know tickets go up to a whopping $703? Holy cow. And according to the fine folks over at Nightlife Agenda, there’ll be an afterparty hosted by Jamie Foxx at H20.
SUNDAY:
