Gosh darnit. Can’t any D.C. bands that we love and adore just stay together for our sake? First the Dismemberment Plan disband a while back, now Q and Not U have decided that the band has run its course and the three members, Chris Richards, Harris Klahr, and John Davis, will be moving on to other projects, Pitchfork reports.

On Q and Not U’s site, the band, who has been together for seven years, states:

“With all of your support, we feel that we’ve reached all of our shared goals as Q and Not U and we’re ready to move on to other projects in life. We all hope to play music together again someday, but we feel that it’s a beautiful and natural time to bring this band to a close.”

Q and Not U will still play their previously scheduled Fort Reno show on Monday, July 18th, and say that they are “currently confirming some farewell shows in D.C. for September. Those details will be announced shortly.”

So mark off July 18th on your calendars, do an anti-rain dance, and make sure to head out to Fort Reno to see what’s sure to be a great, emotional show.
