Here’s a show we couldn’t be more excited to be writing about. This coming Friday (August 5th) at the Black Cat, the lineup consists of three of our favorite local groups: Cartel (who thoroughly impressed the crowds at the Unbuckled concert last June), Monopoli, and Washington Social Club. They’re joining forces to bring you a night of excellent local rock. For only $9, you can see some of the best indie rock that the city has to offer. Check out a Cartel mp3 here, a Monopoli one here, and a WSC one here.

And we know you thought this show couldn’t possibly get better, but guess what – it can! WE KNOW! DCist will be at the show as well, handing out info about our site and selling a brand new batch of t-shirts we just got in, including women’s babydoll styles as popularized by hottie Gothamist editor Jen Chung. Additionally, stay tuned to DCist for an upcoming interview with Washington Social Club.

So make sure you come on out. Next Friday. Black Cat. 9:30 p.m. Three great bands. Sounds like the perfect summer night to us.
