Print media has once again legitimized the blog world by grabbing one of our own. Garrett Graff, editor of Fishbowl DC, announced today that he’ll be scaling back his duties at the Mediabistro blog to take over as editor-at-large of the Washingtonian. Graff will be taking over for the now retired Chuck Conconi, who was at Washingtonian for 13 years.

Graff has been on the blogwagon for some time, moving from the 2004 Howard Dean campaign to work at Echoditto, an internet consultancy firm founded by former Dean campaign webmaster Nicco Mele. Graff’s print credentials are also nothing to sneeze at; he was editor of The Crimson during his time at Harvard.

So what does this mean for the D.C. blogosphere? Two words: job opening! Rumor has it that Graff found out about the Fishbowl job from DCist, and now Mediabistro are looking for another part-time blogger as Graff scales back his writing. Yes, it’s true: you can get paid to blog. What a country.
