D.C. don’t draw your claws in yet. This September NBC plays host not only to the latest installment of corporate head-to-head with the next season of Donald Trump’s The Apprentice, but it also launches the newest catfight with soon-to-be free to move about the country Martha Stewart’s rendition. In a recent release Ms. Stewart hints at a potential conference room (note: not boardroom) bloodfest remarking that the cast’s “poise and creativity is balanced by a tremendous entrepreneurial spirit…Even so, there are some explosive personalities among the candidates and they really create a lot of tension in the conference room.”
Excellent! The show premiers Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. on NBC and gives D.C.-area residents added reason to watch with two locals making the cast of 16 — Sarah, champion UVa coxswain and healthcare-consulting firm event planner, and Leslie, owner of a marketing and research firm who was named one of Hispanic Business magazine’s “100 Most Influential Hispanic Americans.”
The candidates, ten women and 6 men, vie for an esteemed position with Martha Stewart Living. The show takes a similar style to The Donald’s version, with a few Martha-esque twists (we are certain she will not be sporting a classic comb over). The candidates live in a loft and head to the conference room at each episode’s close. While Martha will assuredly conduct herself with grace and dignity throughout the series, we aren’t holding out much hope that the competitors will keep their poise the entire 13 weeks. Actually, we are hoping they don’t.
In a related catfight note, America’s Next Top Model 5 announced its new cast as well. No D.C.-area residents in the mix, but we are sure many of you will be glued to each episode nonetheless.
