A number of street closings and parking restrictions for the mall area have been announced by Metropolitan Police and the Examiner is reporting Metro is planning to open two hours early and provide trains downtown every 3 minutes before the event begins. The Post also has this helpful map summarizing street closures and other planned activities downtown.

(Click here to view a DCist map of the approximate locations of the speed cameras.) The W. Times reports that during the 1-month trial period the cameras caught 25,000 speeders and 546 red light violators. Meanwhile, the numbers of speeders and red light runners are both at the lowest levels they have been since the cameras were introduced.
