One-hundred days on, and the suspense finally comes to an end.

Washington’s newest panda cub will now be known as Tai Shan, which means “peaceful mountain.” While a fitting name, we’re still partial to “Butterstick.” The people have spoken, though, and we’re not ones to resort to violence to make our point. But we will sulk.

Update: Via the Post, we find that “Tai Shan” received 88,245 votes, 44 percent of the total votes cast. Second place went to “Qiang Qiang,” which received 66,195 votes. This being Washington, representatives from the “Qiang Qiang” camp are alleging massive voter fraud.
