Monday:
>> Over at Black Cat there’s a Pitchfork friendly line up of mid-tempo, indie folk, with John Vanderslice, Portastatic, and Brandon Butler. There’s sure to be some quality balladeering, but you’ll probably want to hit the 14th Street Caribou for some caffeine beforehand. $10.

>> As for us, DCist is going to see The Sentiment at DC9. They’re loud, they’re fun, and they let you jump on stage. On a Monday, this is what we need. $7.

Tuesday:
>> So, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are playing the Black Cat. We know it’s a real rarity for some band to come bounding out of New York, setting all the critics’ hairs on fire, and selling out shows very quickly, even though we didn’t tell anybody about their damn presale password. But next time they come through, they’ll be playing some big hall where no one has good seats, and you’ll be paying the scalper ten times what you’re going to give him tonight to see the show, so you may as well check them out now, before your little sister has them on her Nano. Scalping is wrong.

Wednesday:
>> Speaking of wallet busters, U2 is back in town, spending two nights at the MCI Center, and tickets are available, starting at around 100 bucks. Not bad, we feel, for an opportunity to see pre-canonization Bono. Or maybe pre-Nobel. Or maybe both. Who cares, as long as they play “Where The Streets Have No Name”?
