Is the ultra-hip, quasi exclusive and not very well marked dance club Red closing its doors for good? It seems that way.

A DCist reader tipped us off to the fact that, after nine years, this is the last weekend for the late-night club. According to this flyer, hipsters with an itch to get down have one more chance to dance late into the night this weekend.

Located just below the yellow Fudruckers sign at the corner of Connecticut and 18th Street just south of Dupont Circle, Red was a bit of a bear to find, but worth it once we got inside. This DCist is a little past her clubbing days, but has some fond memories of the place and is sorry to see it go.

Where else can you dance until 5 a.m. in the District? The closing weekend dance marathon takes place this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Admission is free and doors open at 11 p.m.
