Mayor Criticizes DUI Law: Although we recently posted about how the D.C. Council has voted to amend the city’s DUI law to establish .05 percent as the level below which drivers are presumed sober, this morning the mayor has issued a statement criticizing the law and the Council’s haste to amend it. The mayor says he will take ten days to decide whether to sign the bill.

Metro Inventing Words: To grab riders’ attention Metro has launched a humorous ad campaign featuring invented words, the AP via the W. Times reports. According to WMATA the words include “Doorker,” for a “person who crowds or blocks Metro doors, making it difficult for others to exit or enter promptly,” and “Conseaterate” for someone who is “thoughtful toward others who are more in need of a Metrorail or Metrobus seat.”
