Incumbent Mayor Muriel Bowser jumps into what is shaping up to be a competitive mayoral race, with at least two D.C. Council members challenging her.

Election season has kicked off in D.C., and soon voters will be drowning in pitches from candidates for every office from mayor to school board.

“I’m running,” said White in a comment on an Instagram post, using the same social media that has often got him in trouble to announce his political ambitions.

White is the first big-name entrant in the 2022 race, with questions remaining as to whether Mayor Muriel Bowser will run for a third term.

The Mayor’s office is not in favor of the proposed legislation.

Neither of them appear to have much of a chance.
