DCist apologizes for this month’s theater preview being a bit behind schedule (its resident critic keeps ending up travelling out of state), but there’s no reason to fret, as there’s plenty of interesting options playing at area venues during November.

Bunnies: Not just cute like everybody supposes? Or man’s real best friend? The lead character of Vpstart Crow’s production of Harvey would say they fall into the “friend” camp, but everybody just thinks he’s crazy. See the show for yourself (Nov. 4).

D.C.’s got Company, lots of Company: two amateur groups are staging the ambitious Sondheim musical; Foundry Players in Dupont and Kensington Arts Theatre (Oct. 28).

Did you enjoy Rorschach Theatre Company’s production of The Beard of Avon? We did, so we’re psyched some of the talent is reuniting for a sneak preview of the play Over at Catalyst Theatre (Nov. 11)

Looking for a Dickens fix? If you didn’t catch the Roman Polanski film during its release (did anyone?), instead opt to consider yourself at home at Olney Theatre, where they’re staging the musical version of Oliver! (Nov. 15).

DCist didn’t really know what to make of this show when we saw it on the Tony’s a few years back, but audience members have since been enchanted by A Year With Frog And Toad, which Round House Theatre in Bethesda will tackle this month (Nov. 16).
