Monday:
Thank goodness for Iota, as most of the other clubs in the area are dark tonight. Head to Nearlington to see (The Sounds of) Kaleidoscope’s (pictured) brand of noise-pop, with Brandon Butler (ex-Canyon), and Mike Maloney. $10.

Alternatively, make a holiday mix-tape.

Tuesday:
Deleted Scenes are one of a number of local bands to do the catchy, up-tempo, New York rock thing really well. See them Tuesday as they release their new album at DC9, playing with lots of bands, but especially Lejeune, who we just wrote about. $7.

When we first encountered Jason Mraz, we thought he was, well, kind of a nerd. Catchy music, but in general, a bit of a geek. About a year and a half ago we saw him at DAR Constitution Hall and he turned our smirk upside down with one of the most endearing and charismatic shows we’ve had the pleasure to attend. Think what you will — but this guy’s charming. See for yourself tonight at the 9:30 Club. You may have to scrounge for tickets though, the show’s sold out. Doors 7:30 p.m.

However, we have a feeling that no amount of DAR exposure could warm us up to Clay Aiken. Sorry guy. You be the judge. 7:30 p.m., $55 – $125.

Wednesday:
“Why’d they kill my dog damn man I miss my uncle Charles ya’ll…” We all have our own, special memories of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. Relive yours tonight at 9:30. 7:30 p.m., $25.
