Don’t Walk, Sprint: Time is running out to check out the very last show ever at Fusebox, Collection/Kolekcija, the Cold War-inspired work of Serbian photographer Vesna Pavlovic (her Jagodin Hotel, Jagodina II is pictured), and Ian Whitmore’s Little Lies in the project space. Through Feb. 11. Hopefully Sarah and Patrick will throw some sort of spectacular closing bash.
Metaphorical Heavy Hitter: Big time photographer and de facto social commentator Lorna Simpson will be on hand Thursday night at 7 p.m. for an artist talk at the Hirshhorn Museum’s Ring Auditorium.
Gotta Get Back: Illustrator and painter Chris Bishop will be showing new work at Bedrock Billiards in Adams Morgan, with an opening party for the exhibition, Pretty Girls & Robots, on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 5 p.m. Bishop’s robots make me think just a bit of Genndy Tartakovsky’s Samurai Jack villains, and that certainly isn’t a bad thing.
