So, the story goes a little something like this. Once upon a time there was a show called Unbuckled. It was a little get-together we threw, where we invited a couple of our favorite bands and everyone else in the city, and we watched the bands play and gave some stuff away, and the night was generally an unqualified success, like silent velcro or any movie with Sting in it. And we planned to have many more such events, but we kind of got caught up with other stuff.
But the city kept making music we couldn’t ignore, and we soon had no choice but to dig Unbuckled up and reanimate it. Cue thunder, lightning, and uncontrollable Cheney cackling.
On Thursday, February the 23rd, DCist is very proud to present the second ever Unbuckled, featuring The Hard Tomorrows, Olivia Mancini and the Housemates, and the turntabling of our own DJ Leafblower. The show’s at DC9, and six dollars gets you in. Expect outstanding music, a full house, and lots of free stuff from us. What can we say? We’re sorry it took us so long to do another one of these, but damned if this won’t be one to remember.
Thanks to Holly Tegeler for creating our Unbuckled designs.
