Yeah, we heard the rumors last week too. By the looks of the constantly churning rumor mill, it appears that the cutely coupled Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (or Pitt-Jolie) just bought a house in Kalorama. Now, we’d love to get excited about the prospect of honest to God A-List celebrities being our new neighbors, but DCist has been burned once too often. The couple’s real estate dithering, which began around the Thanksgiving holiday, is starting to wear us out. Despite our cynicism, we admit to scouring the Internet for any actual truth behind the recent claims. What did we find? Nothing much, except this little blurb from an online chat hosted by The Reliable Source.
Amy Argetsinger: Brad’s agent says it’s not true.
The listing agent says it’s not true.
The selling agent says it’s not true.
The seller says it’s not true.
Beyond the general rumor mill — which, after all, could just be reverb from the November rumor, when they were photographed in front of a Kalorama house — we’ve received just *enough* intelligence to give the new rumor a certain level of potential credence such that we have spent a lot of time investigating this matter. If it turns out there’s anything worth reporting, well, we’ll report it. But there isn’t yet. So take anything you see or hear out there with a grain of salt.
And keep your fingers crossed!
Oh, how you tease us so. Not enough to write off the rumor and just barely enough to keep us checking the tabloids. But, it’s three weeks until the Oscars and we need something to keep us busy. Any DCist readers have an inside tip to report?
