Perhaps it is the weather, with the cold driving people indoors. Or maybe you all have finally redeemed those iTunes gift cards you received over the holidays. But whatever the reason, it was a light week for eavesdropping. But we are almost to March, and spring brings cherry blossoms, which in turn means tourists will once again flock to our fair city — and our cup will once again runneth over with the absurd, the clueless, and the funny. We have to make our forebears proud — or at least not make them regret letting us borrow their concept.

Nevertheless, there were still some pretty interesting and amusing conversations reported by our intrepid group of readers this week. As always, we want to know what you’ve heard around town, at overheardindc (at) gmail (dot) com.

Quote of the Week

At the corner of 9th and T, walking towards DC9 for last night’s Unbuckled:
Cop car flips a U-turn and pulls up in front of us in the crosswalk
Cop: “Did you guys hear any gunshots?!”
Roommate: “Um, no sir.”
Me: “We’ve been here about two minutes.”
Cop: “Two minutes, huh?”
Cop car zooms away.

After the jump, RATS, old people are funny, and the Green Line spelling bee.
