Today’s nice, isn’t it? I think we can probably kiss any chance of a big snowstorm goodbye for this winter, which leaves me a little pissed at missing out on the giddiness I experience during blizzards. You folks out there who don’t appreciate the beauty and wonder of feet of snow — and the days off that go along with it — are in luck. Why, you ask? Because of this weekend’s impending heat wave.
Although we’re weeks from the first day of Spring, we’re going to get weather much more common to May than March. Despite the short days and the sun’s low position on its analemma, temperatures are going to climb well into the 60s later this week and will reach into the 70s by the weekend, all courtesy of a Bermuda High. This sucks for us snow lovers, but you beach bums will be happy.
Had you planned on movie-going this weekend to catch up on the latest buzz? Cancel. Did you have the weekend lined out for chores? Forget it. Did you set aside time for checking out Cezanne and Dada? Only if you walk there. This weekend is all about hiking, biking, and volleyball. Your laundry isn’t going anywhere, get outside!
