In response to Damon Ward slaying near 12th and U Streets on February 25, friends and supporters have grown increasingly frustrated with the lack of leads in the case. Though District police have their share of crimes to deal with, some witnesses have claimed that their offers of information have been dealt with slowly or not at all.

This upcoming Sunday, March 12, starting at 2 p.m., friends and other who knew Ward are taking efforts into their own hands. They will be meeting at Duke City, 1208 U St., NW, to canvas the area with flyers and speak with people as a way of soliciting information about the crime. Anyone who would like to help with the effort is asked to attend. For the flyering, heavy staple guns, hammers and small nails, or packing tape are needed.

A $50,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of the shooters. If you have any information regarding the killing of Damon Ward, please contact Detective Lawrence with the Metropolitan Police Department at (202) 645-4376 or (202) 497-3812 or email finddamonwardskiller (at) yahoo (dot) com.
