Over the past few months, DCist has been following the legislative gridlock over Virginia transportation funding fairly closely. We’ve also been pretty clear about our position on the issue, and we hope (but don’t necessarily expect) those blocking the budget to resolve their problems before the dispute leads to a government shutdown in July.

On Monday, the Post took a look at growing worries among Virginia House Republicans that voters might express frustration with the impasse at the polls next year. A healthy variety of comments follows without fail whenever we post on this issue, giving us some insight into the public mind. However, today we want to put the question to you a bit more directly.

Among all the D.C.-metro area voting issues out there, how does transportation (or the lack of it) rank? High enough to tip the electoral fortunes of your local politicians one way or the other? We’re not trying to exclude anyone, so we’re looking beyond just the Virginia debacle. Are you peeved about the Inter-County Connector? Psyched about the extension of the Yellow Line to Ft. Totten? Against the streetcars in Fairfax? Drop us a line, and let us know if these guys really have something to be afraid of come election day!
