Perhaps it’s the steamy weather, or the too-short tease of the Memorial Day weekend but for whatever reason, folks seem to be irked this week, ready to tear into a comment section with extravagant gusto. As always, DCist is prepared to oblige.
If you’re going to be generally upset, you may as well get something for your trouble. So, for the rest of this week, we’ll be running a rant contest. In the comments section of this post, leave 100 (ish) words on any Washington topic, and spare no bile. On Friday at noon, the editorial staff will discuss the entries, choose our top three, run them in a post, and send each winner a DVD of Lewis Black’s “Black on Broadway,” which we’ve been given to celebrate his HBO gig (“Red, White, and Screwed”), airing June 10th.
While anger will be key in each entry, we’ll look kindly upon wit and creativity. Also, please leave your proper email address in the email box so that we can get in touch if you win. And yes, Rusty, you can enter.
Our lines are open, callers. What really grinds your gears?
