With four MLS Cups under their belts, DC United can accurately claim to be the most successful
franchise
in the league’s ten year history. Behind such legends as Marco
Etcheverry, John Harkes, Raul Diaz Arce, and Roy Lassiter, DC United has
procured the reputation as the team to beat in American soccer.

After a disappointing first round exit from last season’s playoffs, DC United
is off to a blistering start to this year’s campaign and seems poised to
reassert their position as the dominant MLS franchise. Under the guidance of
fiery third-year coach Peter Nowak, DC has secured first place in the Eastern
Conference. United sit with a record of six wins, one loss, and three ties.
Offsetting their lone loss against the Colorado Rapids, DC has handily beaten
arch-rival New York Red Bull and owns a pair of victories against their closest
competitor in the standings, the Kansas City Wizards.
