When we last heard, the crew from Gypsy Eyes Records were in the metaphorical maternity ward resting comfortably with great things ahead of them. Those great things kick off this weekend in grand fashion, and you’re all invited to join the festivities. The upstart local music collective has put together an exciting two day concert series they’ve christened as the Forever Festival and the first incarnation is almost upon us all.
On Friday, head to the brand spanking new Rock and Roll Hotel for a solid night of authentic Americana folk and country rock with Vadaveer, John Bustine, Brandon Butler, Shortstack (***), Revival, These United States — yes folks, Josh Read is ready to pull a Dexter Fontaine and play two shows in the same night. On Saturday you will be heading back to the H street corridor to The Red And The Black for Let’s French, Scourge of the Sea, Paleo and Kitty Hawk.
