After years of jamming together in the East Village jazz club Nublu, the Brazilian Girls released their eponymous debut to critical acclaim in 2005. On that album and this year’s follow-up, Talk to La Bomb, BG are New Yorkers through and through: ultra-sophisticated, inventive, and à la mode.

None of the members of BG are Brazilian, and only lead singer Sabina Sciubba is a girl, but we suspect they chose their name because, like supermodel Gisele Bündchen or any other of our tanned, toned, samba-dancing friends south of the equator, the Brazillian Girls are avatars of sexy-chic. Incorporating techno, dub, jazz, and – wouldn’t you know it – samba, BG create a unique sound: electronic blips and reverbs that pulsate under Sciubba’s croon. Think Kraftwerk meets Edith Piaf. Though it retains the loungey, subdued vibe of Brazilian Girls on some tracks, Talk to La Bomb has more electroclash attitude than its predecessor.

This splashy synth attitude will be on display at the 9:30 Club on Thursday, where Sciubba and the gang will be giving us something to be thankful for that the pilgrims never saw coming. BG shows usually sell out quickly, but since this show is scheduled for Thanksgiving, tickets are still on sale. So if you like arty, stylized electro-rock that invokes Pablo Neruda and chants of “pussy pussy pussy, marijuana!” you’re in luck. Hopefully Sciubba’s mix of German, French, Italian, Spanish and English won’t make us feel like country bumpkins.

Brazilian Girls, with opener Christine Mortiz, will be at the 9:30 Club tomorrow night at 9 p.m., $25
