>> The White House could soon feel more like elementary school for reporters. It seems there are concerns that media personnel are roaming the halls unsupervised under the guise of going to the bathroom. Now White House officials are threatening to force journalists to be escorted to and from the john. Will this also stop the bad girls from smoking in the bathroom? [FishbowlDC]

>> Apparently, someone in Rockville has had it up to here with our warm winter. A homeowner rented a snow-blowing machine and covered his front yard with the white stuff. NBC4 has lots of pictures, but no explanation of what drove someone to such a drastic move. Further research reveals it only costs about $200, including shipping, to get your very own backyard blizzard. Who’ll chip in for a sledding hill for the three day weekend?

>> The Lincoln Theater is temporarily out of danger of closing, thanks to an emergency grant from the city to the theater’s coffers. The building is owned by the city and leased to the U Street Theater Foundation, which announced earlier this week that they had only $1,400 in the bank. The Fenty administration now faces a tough choice whether to renew the foundation’s lease, which would allow them to seek outside money to stay afloat. Let’s hope that whatever solution is found, the historic venue is protected from aggressive U st. condo developers. [WTOP]
