>> Uncomfirmed reports of a messy early start to the commute on the Blue/Orange lines thanks to smoke and possibly a small fire at the Smithsonian stop. Nothing from WMATA at 5:49 p.m., so either it’s already over, or it’s just begun. Good luck out there.

>> A local developer presented plans over the weekend to restore the historic Howard Theatre. Mari from InShaw says she’s heard it all before and will only believe it when she sees it. [AP & InShaw]

>> Prince William County is under seige by Quantico’s anti-garage door agenda. Does this mean Fonzie is trapped in his room at the Cunningham home FOREVER?! [WaPo & Wonkette]

>> Missed over the weekend: WTOP reveals that Mayor Fenty is constantly asking his security detail to turn on the sirens so he can run red lights, which is apparently a violation of D.C. Code. In a related AP story, MPD officers are apparently constantly getting tickets from red light cameras when they’re responding to a call. The tickets are almost always dismissed, but the process is a huge time and resource drain on the department. [WTOP & AP]
