Holy aerial views! It can be tough to get a decent shot out the window of an airplane, but Flickr user davebushe took a brilliant one here. The frozen Potomac and the slightly smoggy blue sky create an interesting effect, really highlighting the white marble monuments. I don’t think I’m alone in saying that flying out of National is one of the most awe-inspiring things about living here; there’s nothing better than flying in from a long trip and seeing these amazing buildings in your town shining in the night.
