The event seeks to raise money for the DC Blast, a local girls’ soccer team. The girls (ages 14-16) are embarking on a trip to South Africa. There, with the help of Roberts, they will run a soccer camp while concurrently educating 100 young South African girls about HIV/AIDS prevention. Note: that’s “concurrently”, not simultaneously. Though that would be a neat trick. Goals for Girls Auction & Wine Tasting is tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the JW Marriott, 1331 Penn Ave. NW.
