Another week, another set of transit headlines. This week we’ve got “controversy” over the new Taxicab Zone Map, Metro’s contribution to the, er, local economy, and questions about the new rail cars Metro’s been bringing on line. Also, yet another story of inaction on Metro funding…but by Maryland.
Worth noting: The Metro Riders Advisory Council is holding an event this evening at Metro’s 600 5th St. NW headquarters to take suggestions on transit improvements riders would like to see. The event was last night. All of the RAC‘s meetings are open to the public and take place on Wednesday evenings. Check the calendar on Metro’s website for details.
Finally, Metrobus routes 5A, 13, 32, 34, 35, 36, 52, 54, 66, 70, 80, P6, S2, S4, and V8 will be affected by the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on Saturday. Metro hopes to resume normal service by 1:30 p.m.
