We can’t promise you’ll enjoy yourselves as much as these guys, but here are a few picks for this Tuesday night.
>> Ben Katchor, a multi-talented performer, artist and author, comes to D.C. tonight with a presentation that “elevates the slide show to a form of performance art.” We’ve seen some pretty good slide shows, but Katchor’s work, which includes fantastical takes on everyday life, has drawn rave reviews. In fact, he was the first cartoonist to win a MacArthur “genius grant.” [Washington DCJCC, 1529 16th St. NW, $8, 7:30 p.m.]
>> Local folk singer Justin Jones plays a free show tonight at Felix in Adams Morgan. Appearing there every Tuesday in April, Jones will perform a solo set without his band The Driving Rain. [2406 18th Street NW, Free, 10:00 p.m.]
>> The Washington Psychotronic Film Society presents another classic example of cinematic excellence at Doctor Dremo’s. This week it’s Freaked a comedy featuring Mr. T about sideshow performers. How did the academy overlook his performance? [2001 Clarendon Blvd., Free, 8:00 p.m.]
>> As we mentioned yesterday Ratatat will bring their electronic beats to 9:30 club tonight. The New York-based duo performs with Despot and Hexa. [815 V St. NW, $15, 10 p.m. doors.]
