>> Operation Filmmaker is documentary of sorts that follows the strange story of Iraqi film student Muthana Mohmed. Mohmed was given an opportunity to work as a production assistant in Prague on the set of Liev Schreiber’s 2005 film Everything Is Illuminated, and filmmaker Nina Davenport signed on to document his experience. The problem was that Mohmed was quickly fired for being bad at his job, but Davenport continued to follow him as he fought to avoid being sent back to Baghdad. The resulting film, which has been making the rounds at festivals, is playing tonight at 8 p.m. at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden’s Ring Auditorium. Davenport will be there in person to talk about her experience.
