Salad days are usually something we look back on with a mix of nostalgia and embarrassment, but the folks at Chop’t Salad are embracing them from the get go and celebrating them as soon as they kick off. How? Free salad.
Penn QuarterChinatown’s newest resident is throwing the doors of their first Washington location wide open today with free salad for all who stop by. The idea behind Chop’t is customization. With a bevy of ingredients to choose to make whatever disgusting combination you like, you and your friends can have competitions to see who can come up with the most unlikely melange to gross out the line workers. If you’re the uncreative type, Chop’t has a variety of preset recipes like the Palm Beach Shrimp and Chop’t Po Boy, so you can save your genius for work. Be sure to check out their 27 dressing options—the best part of salad, right?—which range from fresh-squeezed lemon juice to General Tso’s Chipotle.
Chop’t promises to sling the greens and have no truck with your coinage until the leaves run out, so you might want to stop by early. Doors open at 11 a.m., so get going.
Thanks to Sara Levine at Washingtonian for tossing us this salad tip!
