The Air Force Memorial has a certain architectural elegance that makes it almost hard not to photograph well, but some certainly stand far above the others, and we especially like Flickr user mosely.brian‘s crisp version here.
Did you miss our announcement on Wednesday? The DCist Exposed Photography Show contest is open and accepting entries for our 2008 exhibition. Not only might you get to show your original work on a real gallery wall at Civilian Art Projects and get to know the other talented photographers in our little community here, but your participation in the show could even propel you into further success. We’ve watched many of last year’s winners participate in bigger art shows, have images selected for publications or art performances, or turn their “fun hobby” into a successful side business. In fact, this weekend you can hop out to Herndon, Va., where 2007 winner Brian Knight opens his very first solo show this weekend at The Huckleberry Inn. Stop by the reception Saturday between 7 and 11 p.m. to see his collection of work (and ask him how DCist propelled him into fame and fortune!).
To enter your photos for the 2008 DCist Exposed show, remember to fill out our application and submit the $5 entry fee. If you have questions about the show, or just want to come out to meet and have a beer with some fellow photographers, join us for a meet-up on December 16, 2 p.m., at Rocket Bar in Gallery Place.
