>> Guitarist Mark Mosely brings a fine group to Twins Jazz this Friday and Saturday for 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. sets. Special guests will include organist Radam Schwartz, saxophonist Dave Schnitter and drummer Jay Jefferson, who just played recently with the Todd Marcus Jazz Orchestra. Tickets are $16.
>> Our pick of the week takes place this weekend at the venerable Bohemian Caverns. Three Stars alum Thad Wilson (pictured) will celebrate the 10th anniversary of his jazz orchestra, which features some of the finest musicians in the D.C. area, including pianist Allyn Johnson, drummer Nasar Abadey, and others. Sets are at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Tickets are $20 for Friday’s set and $15 for Saturday’s. The price difference is because the Friday performance will also feature local legend Buck Hill.
